"Everything started with one friendship. The difficult moments spent with Petra Němcová just after the Tsunami in Southeast Asia changed my life forever. My friend was recovering from her body and soul injuries and it was natural for me to be close to her. It has been a long time since Petra recovered from her injuries and in 2005 founded the Happy Hearts Fund and became a world-renowned philanthropist."
The Happy Hearts Czech Foundation builds safe resilient schools in areas affected by natural disasters. Happy Hearts is partnered by the American foundation All Hands and Hearts – Smart Response, co-founded by Petra Němcová. After her personal experience of natural disaster, Petra has decided to help systematically in the affected areas on a long-term basis. Through Happy Hearts schools, we bring hope and support to generations of children and communities. To date, together with more than 60,000 volunteers from around the world, we have built 305 schools in 15 countries that serve 113,000 children and have a positive impact on 1,203,000 community members. It is thus one of the few Czech foundations with such a significant global impact.
Since 2012, Happy Hearts Czech in cooperation with Unique One Events has organized eight charity dinners with a total proceeds of USD 1.8 million.
From donations from Czech donors, we built six new schools in Nepal and Haiti for a total of 1,559 children.
We are proud to be the exclusive international partner of the American non-profit organization All Hands and Hearts (AHAH), which has been awarded the highest possible four star rating by Charity Navigator – the most trusted charity rating organization – for the fourth consecutive year. As a result, AHAH ranks among the TOP 9% of nonprofit organizations in America.
